A must see evening of music, song and poetry for peace will take place at the Samuel Worth Chapel to raise funds for Sheffield Palestine Cultural Exchange (SPaCE). The event will feature poet, ceramicist and activist Seni Seneviratne alongside the musical duo ASHTI.
Seni Seneviratne, of English and Sri Lankan heritage, will read from her own work and share the voices of Palestinian poets, celebrating their words of resistance, resilience and hope. ASHTI is formed of Dlivan Salih, a singer-songwriter, music producer and multi-instrumentalist originally from Kurdistan, Northern Iraq and now based in Derby, and Carol Fieldhouse, a singer-songwriter and community musician. Together they perform songs in Arabic, Farsi and English, arranged for drum, keyboard and guitar. ASHTI was formed in 2023, and its name means “peace” in both Kurdish and Farsi.
